Event Overview
Get ready — the Glimmerglass Triathlon returns in 2026, bigger, bolder, and more breathtaking than ever! This year’s race will challenge athletes across three stunning disciplines set against the scenic backdrop of Glimmerglass State Park and Otsego Lake.
The competition kicks off at the park’s beachfront with a 1.5-mile open-water paddle. Racers will glide through the calm, protected waters of Hyde Bay, surrounded by panoramic lake views. Upon reaching shore, athletes will make a swift transition in the beachfront parking area to begin the next leg of the race.
The 16.5-mile bike course takes competitors on a picturesque loop north of the park, following quiet secondary roads that offer a mix of rolling hills and fast stretches. Once riders return to the transition zone, it’s time for the final push — the run.
The race concludes with a 10K run winding through Glimmerglass State Park, crossing the iconic Hyde Hall footbridge, and finishing amid some of the most scenic trails in upstate New York. Whether you’re racing for a personal best or soaking in the natural beauty, the 2026 Glimmerglass Triathlon promises an unforgettable experience from start to finish.
